Essential Oils for Winter

Discover the essential oils for the cold season, to have a great winter!

That's it, it's already winter, so a host of torments, hassles, ordeals arrive….

Whether it's a simple cough or a cold, we always end up in very uncomfortable situations! Fortunately, this is not inevitable, because taking simple advice and getting a few smart ideas are enough to counteract these, even to avoid them! The first thing to do to fight back, is by trying to breathe in a good breath of fresh air with an essential oil of your choice.

So, make sure you choose the right oil, that is, the one that best meets your needs. The properties of the essential oils depend above all on its origin. In other words, the quality of the plant, the fruit or the bark from which it comes. In addition, each botanical variety has its own peculiarities. Thus, within the same species, two varieties can have totally different properties. The best way to use them is to try cures two to three times a day or every two hours in the event of an epidemic or for preventional use. Before you do this though, make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients in the oil you choose!

Essential oils for winter
Know that what we are telling you is not just based on our pet favorites of our essential oils or perfumes, but based on inevitable facts! Indeed, each oil has its own season and its antiseptic properties. Thus in winter these can be found as oils;

Eucalyptus essential oil
Native to Australia and Tasmania, eucalyptus oil has good preventive properties. It decongests the respiratory tract with its fresh and pleasant smell. With a simple gesture, pour one to two drops of eucalyptus essential oil on a porous surface (such as pebbles) or on a paper tissue

Eucalyptus essential oil recipe

Common cold:
Add 15 drops of eucalyptus essential oil and 8 drops of pine essential oil, then top up with macadamia vegetable oil in a 15 ml bottle.

More advice: 10 to 20 drops or "a small dab" of the mixture applied to the chest or on a forearm 2 to 4 times a day for 8 to 10 days.

Influenza with complications in the respiratory tract
Add 68 drops of radiated eucalyptus essential oil and 68 drops of tea tree essential oil, then combine with macadamia oil. This recipe will work wonders
More tips: Apply 10 to 20 drops or "a small dab" of the mixture to the chest and forearm 4 to 6 times a day for 4 to 5 days.

Pine essential oil
The botanical origin of this oil comes from the Pinaceae tree family. This kind of tree is now widespread in cold and mountainous areas of Europe. Wild and resistant, it grows particularly on sandy and rocky soils. Pine oil has tonic properties (anti-infectious, analgesic, anti-inflammatory) which at the same time allow oxygenation of the blood.

Pine essential oil recipes
Congestion of the airways (bronchitis)
Pour 45 drops of essential oil of pine and 23 drops of essential oil of rosemary  officianalis at 1-8 then complete with macadamia vegetable oil in a graduated bottle up to the 30 ml graduation.

More advice: 10 to 20 drops or "a small dab" of the mixture applied to the chest, a forearm 2 to 4 times a day for 5 to 6 days.

Cold

Pour 23 drops of Scots pine essential oil and then top up with macadamia vegetable oil in a bottle

More advice: 10 to 20 drops or "a small dab" of the mixture applied to the chest, a forearm 2 to 4 times a day for 8 to 10 days.

Ravintsara essential oil:
This is extracted from the Madagascar camphor tree leaf. In an olfactory sense, the essential oil of ravintsara gives off a fresh scent similar to that of eucalyptus,. Thanks to its antiviral and immunostimulating active ingredients, it is recommended against flu syndrome and protects against rhinitis, sinusitis and pharyngitis. It is a very versatile oil that has a high tolerance. With ravintsara oil you can boost your immunity.

Ravintsara essential oil recipes
Influenza
Apply 3 drops of ravintsara essential oil to the lower back, along the spine and on the chest, 5-6 times a day. And (in addition to those 3 drops), put 1 drop of this essential oil in a teaspoon of honey, olive oil or 1/2 cane sugar and let it melt in your mouth, 4 times during the day. Which gives you a total of 22 drops per day.

And for children, how to use ravintsara essential oil for the flu: Apply 3 drops to the forehead, sides of the nose, chest and back. Repeat this application 3 times a day for 3 days. This recipe is also useful for the common cold.

Cold
Prepare in a bottle in equal parts ravintsara oil, niaouli and eucalyptus. Massage 2 drops of this mixture on the chest, 4 times a day for 3 days.

More advice: Do not hesitate to apply 3 drops of the essential oil of this mixture on a tissue and inhale it several times during the day. You can also when you have a blocked nose, apply 1 drop of this mixture on the nose (watch out for the eyes). It will help stop your runny nose

Hay fever :
Apply 1 drop of ravintsara essential oil and 1 drop of tarragon essential oil to the nose, sides of the nose, chest and upper back. The effect is immediate, it will relieve the itching and coughing fits.

To be used 2 to 3 times a day for 20 days. Take a weekly break after every 20 days. You can also pour the drops on a handkerchief and breathe it in from time to time.

More advice: 10-20 drops or "a small dab" of the mixture applied to the lungs, 2 to 4 times a day for 3 to 4 days. You can combine this trick with a wet inhalation in the evening before bedtime (except in cases of asthma)

Lemon essential oil:
It is the perfect atmospheric antiseptic (general stimulant, anti-infective and antiviral). This oil is useful in case of recurrent infections, such as in children.

Lemon essential oil recipes

Flu:

Mix in equal parts 65 drops of lemon essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, cinnamon essential oil.
Dilute 2-3 drops of this mixture in a teaspoon of aloe vera oil or gel and apply in a circular massage on the back and stomach. You can also diffuse the lemon and eucalyptus mixture.

Aerophagia:

Mix the essential oils of lemon, cumin, basil, peppermint and tarragon in equal parts of about 45 drops Dilute 2-3 drops of this mixture in a teaspoon of aloe vera oil or gel and apply on the belly after each meal.

Common cold:

Mix 22 drops of lemon essential oil and 22 drops of marjoram essential oil in a 5 ml bottle. Then inhale.

More advice: Pour 12 drops of lemon essential oil to which you add 85 drops of macadamia oil in an empty bottle of about 15 ml. Then apply 10 - 20 drops of this mixture on your body (be careful with the face) and apply this, several times as necessary. For children, apply to clothing, hair, mosquito nets, lemon essential oil

Rosemary essential oil:
An oil for endurance which generally has invigorating (circulatory and muscular tonic) and anti-infectious (viral, bacterial and fungal) properties. Perfect for your beauty treatments, it is indeed renowned for its regenerating and resourcing properties on skin and hair (dull hair, dandruff, hair loss). All you need to do is add 1-2 drops to your dose of shampoo.

Flu:

15 drops of rosemary essential oil, 35 drops of saro essential oil, 20 drops of myrtle essential oil (or 16 drops eucalyptus essential oil) and 20 drops of jojoba vegetable oil

- The dosage for children: 6 drops of this mixture on the chest and back 5 times a day for 3 to 5 days

- Adult dosage: 15 drops of this mixture on the chest and back 4 to 6 times a day for 3 to 5 days

Otitis:

Combine 16 drops of rosemary essential oil and 15 drops of niaouli and 1 and a half drops of vegetable oil. Massage around the ear. Rosemary essential oil can be replaced with lavender or eucalyptus essential oils (15 drops of each).

Rhinitis / sinusitis:

Diffuserosemary essential oil combined with eucalyptus essential oil several times a day for a week.

Common cold:

Mix in a bottle 20 drops of essential oil of rosemary and 20 drops of essential oil of Marjoram. Consume 2 drops of this mixture with a spoon of honey. You can also alternate rosemary with ravintsara or lemon. The application of four doses per day for 1 week, will be more than enough for you to obtain good results.

Lavender essential oil:
Considered the blue gold of Provence, it is soothing! It has healing properties which are widely used to treat many problems related to the skin: burns (without open wound), as an anti-lice repellent, sunburn, dermatoses (eczema, pruritus, skin fungus, rosacea …), Nervous eczema in children, bedsores. and ENT and respiratory disorders. It is also now very popular to help you sleep well.

Relaxing and against headaches

In diffusion: a few drops of lavender essential oil in your diffuser or on a diffusion roller. Allow the scent to spread for 15 minutes.

Inhalation: Place 2 to 3 drops on a tissue and breathe.

In bath: 15 to 20 drops diluted in a bath base, then integrated into the bath.

In massage: Mix a few drops of lavender essential oil in macadamia vegetable oil.

Lavender essential oil recipe

Anti-fever bath:

2 drops of essential oil of lavender officionalis

2 drops of lemon essential oil

1 tablespoon of bath base

Pour this mixture into the lukewarm water of your bath and submerge yourself in your tub.

Cough syrup

You will need a 200ml bottle.

    5g of whole sugar

    50 ml of hydrosol (thyme, radiated eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender in equal parts)

    5 drops of cypress essential oil

    5 drops of thyme essential oil

    5 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil

    5 drops of lavender essential oil

-Mix the sugar and the hydrosols in a saucepan.

-Bring everything to a boil over low heat.

-Let cool and add the essential oils

- Mix and pour everything into a flask.
