Madonna, a Life Story

Another bad buzz for the “Queen of Pop”

Madonna is an iconic American pop singer. She is often referred to as the "Queen of Pop" and has been a major influence in the music industry for several decades. Madonna began her career in the 1980s and since then, she has sold over 300 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling musical artists of all time. Some of her most popular songs are "Like a Virgin", "Material Girl", "Like a Prayer", and "Vogue".

Madonna has also ventured into the realm of filmmaking with notable roles in films such as 'A League of Their Own', 'Evita' and 'Desperately Seeking Susan'. She continues to be an important figure in the entertainment industry and has received numerous awards and accolades during her career.

Madonna has been involved in several scandals during her career.
One of the most famous happened in 1989, when she released the music video for her song "Like a Prayer." The clip contained controversial religious imagery, including burning crosses and a reference to the crucifixion. This provoked a strong reaction from the Catholic community and led to calls for a boycott of her music and concerts.

In 2003, Madonna also caused controversy when she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the MTV Video Music Awards. This kiss made headlines in many newspapers and sparked a debate about Madonna's sexuality and public image.

Her 2023 tour postponed?
After being hospitalized in intensive care for "a serious bacterial infection" last June, Madonna seems to have regained her strength. For the first time since leaving the hospital, the American singer gave her news on her social networks.
American pop megastar Madonna, 64, reassured her fans on Monday (July 10, 2023) that she was "on the road to recovery" after contracting a serious bacterial infection that landed her in hospital and made her postpone her world tour, reports the France-Presse agency (AFP).

"When I woke up in the hospital, my first thought was for my children. My second thought was that I didn't want to disappoint anyone who had bought tickets for my tour," Madonna explains.
"I am now focusing on my health and getting stronger, and I assure you, I will be back with you as soon as I can," said the American singer.
